Two cultures. One vision.

Mae Laurence Mittelberger is a naturalised German citizen, proudly born Filipino from Cebu, Philippines. Her move to Germany never erased her origins, if anything, it deepened her connection to them. From the beginning, her desire has been to carry Filipino artistry forward while fully embracing the culture that became her second home. 

Before crossing continents, Mae Laurence built the foundation of her creative journey in the Philippines, where she established her own production house dedicated to furniture and home accessories. Collaborating closely with skilled local artisans, natural materials, and generations of Filipino craftsmanship, she developed a profound understanding of materials, techniques, and cultural storytelling, a foundation that continues to shape the identity of her work today.

In 2018, she founded her brand as a space where two cultures could meet through design. A design rooted in the warmth and craftsmanship of the Filipino people, shaped by years of living in Germany and China, and refined through travels across continents. A creative expression that exists deliberately between two worlds.

Her creative vision rests on a singular belief: beauty is not the property of one culture; it emerges through dialogue.

Every piece she creates carries this dialogue between cultures. Clean, modern silhouettes are enriched with cultural depth; subtle details become expressions of heritage, craftsmanship, and meaning. Unique materials are thoughtfully selected, from shells, wood, and cow bone to carefully chosen leathers, not simply for their distinctive beauty, but for the stories they hold, the traditions they represent, and the skilled hands that bring them to life. 

Her aesthetic has a name she wears lightly: modern ethnic chic.
